Key findings in the Northern Region

Booth Ainsworth is able to unveil its 2009 Survey (below) in which 121 firms across England, Scotland and Wales took part.

The firms are in the main small firms with broad-based general practices. Partners include both salaried and equity partners.

Key findings in the Northern region is that profit per partner has fallen by 38% pointing to a hardening of the market, including also:

  • Net profit percentage has fallen to 26.9% from 42.1
  • Lock up fees has increased to 34% from 26.5%

As a national average the PII premium to fees has increased to 3% and fee income per partner has increased by 22%.
