Our history

We were established in 1959 by Frank Booth and Peter Ainsworth, both experienced Chartered Accountants.

Our business was based in Cheadle and moved premises a couple of times before acquiring a second office in Stockport.

The firm grew in staff numbers and its client base rapidly developed throughout Cheshire, Manchester and South Manchester. We acted for family owned businesses, entrepreneurs, solicitor practices and charities throughout the region. Some of those original clients are still with us and their businesses are still thriving.

In 2002 we moved to Alpha House on Greek Street in Stockport, which was a brand new development on aptly entitled ‘Professionals Row’ in Stockport.

There are now nearly 100 people working for the firm. Our ethos has remained the same – to deliver on time, whilst being pro-active and always positioning our clients first.

Our working environment was summed up recently by the results of a recent client survey – when we asked our clients what aspect of Booth Ainsworth LLP they particularly liked they trusted our ‘friendly’ approach.

We now offer a full range of services.

Our aspiration for the future is for us to remain the market choice of accountants for some of the inspirational business we currently act for. We will continue to be one of the leading firms of business advisers in the region whilst developing niche specialisms as required by our client base.
